When John came to you in the way of righteousness, you did not believe him; but tax collectors and prostitutes did. Yet even when you saw that, you did not later change your minds and believe him. The Parable of the Tenants.

A highway will be there, called the holy way; No one unclean may pass over it, but it will be for his people; no traveler, not even fools, shall go astray on it.

Thus says the Lord: Stand by the earliest roads, ask the pathways of old, “Which is the way to good?” and walk it; thus you will find rest for yourselves. But they said, “We will not walk it.”

For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they said, ‘He is possessed by a demon.’

Where was John’s baptism from? Was it of heavenly or of human origin?” They discussed this among themselves and said, “If we say ‘Of heavenly origin,’ he will say to us, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’

For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same?

Take care, brothers, that none of you may have an evil and unfaithful heart, so as to forsake the living God.

For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment handed down to them.

I have given her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her harlotry.
