But he did not say a word in answer to her. His disciples came and asked him, “Send her away, for she keeps calling out after us.”

Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked them,

Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out, “[Lord,] Son of David, have pity on us!”

Jesus stopped and called them and said, “What do you want me to do for you?”

And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed [him], crying out, “Son of David, have pity on us!”

The people walking in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent, but he kept calling out all the more, “Son of David, have pity on me!”

Persevere in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving;
