After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.
He took along Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to feel sorrow and distress.
He did not allow anyone to accompany him inside except Peter, James, and John, the brother of James.
We ourselves heard this voice come from heaven while we were with him on the holy mountain.
This third time I am coming to you. “On the testimony of two or three witnesses a fact shall be established.”
When he arrived at the house he allowed no one to enter with him except Peter and John and James, and the child’s father and mother.
And he was transfigured before them; his face shone like the sun and his clothes became white as light.
As he was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple area, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked him privately,
We did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we had been eyewitnesses of his majesty.
