Matthew 15:32

Jesus summoned his disciples and said, “My heart is moved with pity for the crowd, for they have been with me now for three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, for fear they may collapse on the way.”

A man came from Baal-shalishah bringing the man of God twenty barley loaves made from the first fruits, and fresh grain in the ear. Elisha said, “Give it to the people to eat.”

Just as Jonah was in the belly of the whale three days and three nights, so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.

When Jesus heard of it, he withdrew in a boat to a deserted place by himself. The crowds heard of this and followed him on foot from their towns.

The disciples said to him, “Where could we ever get enough bread in this deserted place to satisfy such a crowd?”

Moved with pity, Jesus touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight, and followed him.

and said, “Sir, we remember that this impostor while still alive said, ‘After three days I will be raised up.’

At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd.

It has often thrown him into fire and into water to kill him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”

When the Lord saw her, he was moved with pity for her and said to her, “Do not weep.”

Until the day began to dawn, Paul kept urging all to take some food. He said, “Today is the fourteenth day that you have been waiting, going hungry and eating nothing.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has similarly been tested in every way, yet without sin.
