He said to them, “Which one of you who has a sheep that falls into a pit on the sabbath will not take hold of it and lift it out?

You shall not see your neighbor’s donkey or ox fallen on the road and ignore it; you must help in lifting it up. Various Precepts.

Then he said to them, “Who among you, if your son or ox falls into a cistern, would not immediately pull him out on the sabbath day?”

At that time Jesus was going through a field of grain on the sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick the heads of grain and eat them.
