When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea named Joseph, who was himself a disciple of Jesus.

Peter followed him at a distance into the high priest’s courtyard and was seated with the guards, warming himself at the fire.

Pilate was amazed that he was already dead. He summoned the centurion and asked him if Jesus had already died.

Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout, awaiting the consolation of Israel, and the holy Spirit was upon him.

And coming forward at that very time, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were awaiting the redemption of Jerusalem. The Return to Nazareth.

Now there was a virtuous and righteous man named Joseph who, though he was a member of the council,

had not consented to their plan of action. He came from the Jewish town of Arimathea and was awaiting the kingdom of God.

After this, Joseph of Arimathea, secretly a disciple of Jesus for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate if he could remove the body of Jesus. And Pilate permitted it. So he came and took his body.

The Jews, however, incited the women of prominence who were worshipers and the leading men of the city, stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their territory.

Many of them became believers, as did not a few of the influential Greek women and men.

and so that the majority of the brothers, having taken encouragement in the Lord from my imprisonment, dare more than ever to proclaim the word fearlessly.
