Many are the plans of the human heart, but it is the decision of the Lord that endures.

No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel prevail against the Lord.

It is good for a person, when young, to bear the yoke,

“You know that in two days’ time it will be Passover, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”

But they said, “Not during the festival, that there may not be a riot among the people.” The Anointing at Bethany.

The chief priests and the scribes came to hear of it and were seeking a way to put him to death, yet they feared him because the whole crowd was astonished at his teaching.

But shall we say, ‘Of human origin’?”—they feared the crowd, for they all thought John really was a prophet.

The Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread were to take place in two days’ time. So the chief priests and the scribes were seeking a way to arrest him by treachery and put him to death.

When he was in Bethany reclining at table in the house of Simon the leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of perfumed oil, costly genuine spikenard. She broke the alabaster jar and poured it on his head.

But if we say, ‘Of human origin,’ then all the people will stone us, for they are convinced that John was a prophet.”

Now the feast of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was drawing near,

So the Pharisees said to one another, “You see that you are gaining nothing. Look, the whole world has gone after him.” The Coming of Jesus’ Hour.

Some in the crowd who heard these words said, “This is truly the Prophet.”
