Malachi 2:16

For I hate divorce, says the Lord, the God of Israel, And the one who covers his garment with violence, says the Lord of hosts. You should be on guard, then, for your life, and you must not break faith.

Thus pride adorns them as a necklace; violence clothes them as a robe.

Those who conceal their sins do not prosper, but those who confess and forsake them obtain mercy.

Why then, my son, should you be intoxicated with a stranger, and embrace another woman?

For the bed shall be too short to stretch out in, and the cover too narrow to wrap in.

Thus says the Lord: Where is the bill of divorce with which I dismissed your mother? Or to which of my creditors have I sold you? It was for your sins you were sold, for your rebellions your mother was dismissed.

Their webs cannot serve as clothing, nor can they cover themselves with their works. Their works are evil works, and deeds of violence are in their hands.

“Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and the one who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery. The Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus.

To the married, however, I give this instruction (not I, but the Lord): A wife should not separate from her husband
