Then he stretched himself out upon the child three times and he called out to the Lord: “Lord, my God, let the life breath return to the body of this child.”

The Lord heard the prayer of Elijah; the life breath returned to the child’s body and he lived.

So mortals lie down, never to rise. Until the heavens are no more, they shall not awake, nor be roused out of their sleep.

If a man were to die, and live again, all the days of my drudgery I would wait for my relief to come.

Amen, amen, I say to you, the hour is coming and is now here when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

as it is written, “I have made you father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into being what does not exist.

for it is shameful even to mention the things done by them in secret;
