But woe to you who are filled now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will grieve and weep.

therefore thus says the Lord God: My servants shall eat, but you shall go hungry; My servants shall drink, but you shall be thirsty; My servants shall rejoice, but you shall be put to shame;

Begin to lament, to mourn, to weep. Let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy into dejection.

Even in laughter the heart may be sad, and the end of joy may be sorrow.

For you say, ‘I am rich and affluent and have no need of anything,’ and yet do not realize that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.

When people are saying, “Peace and security,” then sudden disaster comes upon them, like labor pains upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation.

Woe to you when all speak well of you, for their ancestors treated the false prophets in this way. Love of Enemies.
