On that day the Lord, the God of hosts, called For weeping and mourning, for shaving the head and wearing sackcloth.

And he also told them a parable. “No one tears a piece from a new cloak to patch an old one. Otherwise, he will tear the new and the piece from it will not match the old cloak.

You always have the poor with you, but you do not always have me.”

My children, I will be with you only a little while longer. You will look for me, and as I told the Jews, ‘Where I go you cannot come,’ so now I say it to you.

I came from the Father and have come into the world. Now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”

When he had said this, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him from their sight.

They appointed presbyters for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting, commended them to the Lord in whom they had put their faith.
