During the day, Jesus was teaching in the temple area, but at night he would leave and stay at the place called the Mount of Olives.

On that day God’s feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is opposite Jerusalem to the east. The Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west by a very deep valley, and half of the mountain will move to the north and half of it to the south.

When they drew near Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples,

Then going out he went, as was his custom, to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples followed him.

Six days before Passover Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead.

Judas his betrayer also knew the place, because Jesus had often met there with his disciples.
