A psalm of David. Lord, I call to you; hasten to me; listen to my plea when I call.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

He said to them, “Why are you terrified, O you of little faith?” Then he got up, rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was great calm.

And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed [him], crying out, “Son of David, have pity on us!”

Woe to you, scholars of the law! You have taken away the key of knowledge. You yourselves did not enter and you stopped those trying to enter.”

Then he told them a parable about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary. He said,

People were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them, and when the disciples saw this, they rebuked them.

He shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!”

Then Jesus stopped and ordered that he be brought to him; and when he came near, Jesus asked him,

Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.”

While he was still speaking, someone from the synagogue official’s house arrived and said, “Your daughter is dead; do not trouble the teacher any longer.”

Three times I begged the Lord about this, that it might leave me,
