Luke 11:1

He was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.”

Also from arrogant ones restrain your servant; let them never control me. Then shall I be blameless, innocent of grave sin.

But you, beloved, build yourselves up in your most holy faith; pray in the holy Spirit.

In those days he departed to the mountain to pray, and he spent the night in prayer to God.

Once when Jesus was praying in solitude, and the disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?”

In the days when he was in the flesh, he offered prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.

About eight days after he said this, he took Peter, John, and James and went up the mountain to pray.

You listen, Lord, to the needs of the poor; you strengthen their heart and incline your ear.

When the Lord saw her, he was moved with pity for her and said to her, “Do not weep.”

and sent them to the Lord to ask, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?”

There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her.”

He said to them, “When you pray, say: Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.
