‘The dust of your town that clings to our feet, even that we shake off against you.’ Yet know this: the kingdom of God is at hand.

And whether they hear or resist—they are a rebellious house—they shall know that a prophet has been among them.

Whoever will not receive you or listen to your words—go outside that house or town and shake the dust from your feet.

As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’

[and] saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!”

Whatever place does not welcome you or listen to you, leave there and shake the dust off your feet in testimony against them.”

Whatever town you enter and they do not receive you, go out into the streets and say,

cure the sick in it and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God is at hand for you.’

And as for those who do not welcome you, when you leave that town, shake the dust from your feet in testimony against them.”

“My brothers, children of the family of Abraham, and those others among you who are God-fearing, to us this word of salvation has been sent.

Be careful, then, that what was said in the prophets not come about:

Both Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said, “It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first, but since you reject it and condemn yourselves as unworthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.

So they shook the dust from their feet in protest against them and went to Iconium.

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we preach),

who is the refulgence of his glory, the very imprint of his being, and who sustains all things by his mighty word. When he had accomplished purification from sins, he took his seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
