At twilight they left for the Arameans; but when they reached the edge of the camp, no one was there.

We have agreed to bring each year to the house of the Lord the first fruits of our fields and of our fruit trees, of every kind;

Consecrate to me every firstborn; whatever opens the womb among the Israelites, whether of human being or beast, belongs to me.

You shall be a people sacred to me. Flesh torn to pieces in the field you shall not eat; you must throw it to the dogs.

But if it is an unclean animal, it may be redeemed by paying one fifth more than its value. If it is not redeemed, it shall be sold at its value.

But the firstborn of cattle, or the firstborn of sheep or the firstborn of goats you shall not redeem; they are holy. Their blood you must splash on the altar and their fat you must burn as an oblation of pleasing aroma to the Lord.

because every firstborn is mine. When I struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I consecrated to me every firstborn in Israel, human being and beast alike. They belong to me; I am the Lord. Census of the Levites.

You shall consecrate to the Lord, your God, every male firstling born in your herd and in your flock. You shall not work the firstlings of your cattle, nor shear the firstlings of your flock.
