Why have you utterly forgotten us, forsaken us for so long?
For the leader. A psalm of David.
How long, Lord? Will you utterly forget me? How long will you hide your face from me?
I will say to God, my rock: “Why do you forget me? Why must I go about mourning with the enemy oppressing me?”
Awake! Why do you sleep, O Lord? Rise up! Do not reject us forever!
A maskil of Asaph. Why, God, have you cast us off forever? Why does your anger burn against the sheep of your pasture?
How long, Lord? Will you be angry forever? Will your jealous anger keep burning like fire?
Restore us, God of our salvation; let go of your displeasure with us.
You cut short the days of his youth, covered him with shame. Selah V

Why are you like someone bewildered, a champion who cannot save? You are in our midst, Lord, your name we bear: do not forsake us!
