Joshua 14:6

When the Judahites approached Joshua in Gilgal, the Kenizzite Caleb, son of Jephunneh, said to him: “You know the word the Lord spoke to Moses, the man of God, concerning you and concerning me in Kadesh-barnea.

Caleb, however, quieted the people before Moses and said, “We ought to go up and seize the land, for we can certainly prevail over it.”

For the Lord had told them that they would surely die in the wilderness, and not one of them was left except Caleb, son of Jephunneh, and Joshua, son of Nun.

except the Kenizzite Caleb, son of Jephunneh, the Kenizzite, and Joshua, son of Nun, since they have followed the Lord unreservedly.

This is the blessing with which Moses, the man of God, blessed the Israelites before he died.

Since then no prophet has arisen in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face,

So there, in the land of Moab, Moses, the servant of the Lord, died as the Lord had said;

But you, man of God, avoid all this. Instead, pursue righteousness, devotion, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.

so that one who belongs to God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

Thereupon Joshua with all Israel returned to the camp at Gilgal.

Therefore Hebron remains the heritage of the Kenizzite Caleb, son of Jephunneh, to the present day, because he was completely loyal to the Lord, the God of Israel.

Othniel captured it, the son of Caleb’s brother Kenaz; so Caleb gave him his daughter Achsah in marriage.

The people came up from the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and camped in Gilgal on the eastern limits of Jericho.
