Be strong and steadfast, so that you may give this people possession of the land I swore to their ancestors that I would give them.

The Lord appeared to Abram and said: To your descendants I will give this land. So Abram built an altar there to the Lord who had appeared to him.

Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I will give all these lands, in fulfillment of the oath that I swore to your father Abraham.

Hold firm and let us show ourselves courageous for the sake of our people and the cities of our God; and may the Lord do what is good in his sight.”

“I am going the way of all the earth. Be strong and be a man!

Only then shall you succeed, if you are careful to observe the statutes and ordinances which the Lord commanded Moses for Israel. Be strong and steadfast; do not fear or be dismayed.

See how they are now repaying us by coming to drive us out of the possession you have given us.

Was it not you, our God, who dispossessed the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel and gave it forever to the descendants of Abraham, your friend?

Wait for the Lord, take courage; be stouthearted, wait for the Lord!

“Do not fear, beloved. Peace! Take courage and be strong.” When he spoke to me, I grew strong and said, “Speak, my lord, for you have strengthened me.”

Now be strong, Zerubbabel—oracle of the Lord— be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, high priest, Be strong, all you people of the land—oracle of the Lord— and work! For I am with you—oracle of the Lord of hosts.

Thus says the Lord of hosts: Let your hands be strong, you who now hear these words which were spoken by the prophets when the foundation of the house of the Lord of hosts was laid for the building of the temple.

Among these the land shall be divided as their heritage in keeping with the number of people named.

You will take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given you the land to possess.

Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong.

Finally, draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power.

See, the Lord, your God, has given this land over to you. Go up and take possession of it, as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has promised you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

See, I have given that land over to you. Go now and possess the land that the Lord swore to your ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give to them and to their descendants after them. Appointment of Elders.

So keep all the commandments I give you today, that you may be strong enough to enter in and take possession of the land that you are crossing over to possess,

Then he commissioned Joshua, son of Nun, and said to him, Be strong and steadfast, for it is you who will bring the Israelites into the land which I promised them on oath. I myself will be with you. The Law Placed in the Ark.

So you, my child, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

Anyone who rebels against your orders and does not obey all your commands shall be put to death. Only be strong and steadfast.”

Only be strong and steadfast, being careful to observe the entire law which Moses my servant enjoined on you. Do not swerve from it either to the right or to the left, that you may succeed wherever you go.

I command you: be strong and steadfast! Do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord, your God, is with you wherever you go.

Then Joshua said to them, “Do not be afraid or dismayed, be firm and steadfast. This is what the Lord will do to all the enemies against whom you fight.”

All the inhabitants of the mountain regions between Lebanon and Misrephoth-maim, all Sidonians, I will drive out before the Israelites; at least include these areas in the division of the Israelite heritage, just as I have commanded you.

Joshua therefore said to the Israelites, “How much longer will you put off taking steps to possess the land which the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has given you?

And so the Lord gave Israel the entire land he had sworn to their ancestors he would give them. Once they had taken possession of it, and dwelt in it,

Now the Israelites wandered forty years in the wilderness, until all the warriors among the people that came forth from Egypt died off because they had not listened to the voice of the Lord. For the Lord swore that he would not let them see the land he had sworn to their ancestors to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.

Take courage and act like soldiers, Philistines; otherwise you will become slaves to the Hebrews, as they were your slaves. Fight like soldiers!”
