But Jonah made ready to flee to Tarshish, away from the Lord. He went down to Joppa, found a ship going to Tarshish, paid the fare, and went down in it to go with them to Tarshish, away from the Lord.

Now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which translated means Dorcas). She was completely occupied with good deeds and almsgiving.

This became known all over Joppa, and many came to believe in the Lord.

And he stayed a long time in Joppa with Simon, a tanner.

If I preach the gospel, this is no reason for me to boast, for an obligation has been imposed on me, and woe to me if I do not preach it!

These will pay the penalty of eternal ruin, separated from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his power,
