And there was considerable murmuring about him in the crowds. Some said, “He is a good man,” [while] others said, “No; on the contrary, he misleads the crowd.”

So some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, because he does not keep the sabbath.” [But] others said, “How can a sinful man do such signs?” And there was a division among them.

So the Pharisees answered them, “Have you also been deceived?

The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring about him to this effect, and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent guards to arrest him.

Do everything without grumbling or questioning,

Indeed, only with difficulty does one die for a just person, though perhaps for a good person one might even find courage to die.

And although they were attempting to arrest him, they feared the crowds, for they regarded him as a prophet.

It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, for the slave that he become like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household! Courage Under Persecution.
