Jacob’s well was there. Jesus, tired from his journey, sat down there at the well. It was about noon.

From noon onward, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon.

He fasted for forty days and forty nights, and afterwards he was hungry.

A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.”

For you know the gracious act of our Lord Jesus Christ, that for your sake he became poor although he was rich, so that by his poverty you might become rich.

therefore, he had to become like his brothers in every way, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest before God to expiate the sins of the people.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has similarly been tested in every way, yet without sin.
