So the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord.” When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he tucked in his garment, for he was lightly clad, and jumped into the sea.

By the Lord has this been done; it is wonderful in our eyes.

Deep waters cannot quench love, nor rivers sweep it away. Were one to offer all the wealth of his house for love, he would be utterly despised.

One of his disciples, the one whom Jesus loved, was reclining at Jesus’ side.

When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.”

So she ran and went to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and told them, “They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we don’t know where they put him.”

When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.

Thomas answered and said to him, “My Lord and my God!”

Peter turned and saw the disciple following whom Jesus loved, the one who had also reclined upon his chest during the supper and had said, “Master, who is the one who will betray you?”

It is this disciple who testifies to these things and has written them, and we know that his testimony is true.

The other disciples came in the boat, for they were not far from shore, only about a hundred yards, dragging the net with the fish.

You know the word [that] he sent to the Israelites as he proclaimed peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all,

Therefore let the whole house of Israel know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Messiah, this Jesus whom you crucified.”

The first man was from the earth, earthly; the second man, from heaven.

For the love of Christ impels us, once we have come to the conviction that one died for all; therefore, all have died.

My brothers, show no partiality as you adhere to the faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ.
