May that night be barren; let no joyful outcry greet it!
May obscurity seize that night; may it not be counted among the days of the year, nor enter into the number of the months!
Let them curse it who curse the Sea, those skilled at disturbing Leviathan!
Stilled are the cheerful timbrels, ended the shouts of the jubilant, stilled the cheerful harp.
I will silence the cry of joy, the cry of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; for the land will be turned to rubble.
