On that day, says the Lord of hosts, the peg fixed in a firm place shall give way, break off and fall, and the weight that hung on it shall be done away with; for the Lord has spoken.

I will fix him as a peg in a firm place, a seat of honor for his ancestral house;

On him shall hang all the glory of his ancestral house: descendants and offspring, all the little dishes, from bowls to jugs.

I summon from the east a bird of prey, from a distant land, one to carry out my plan. Yes, I have spoken, I will accomplish it; I have planned it, and I will do it.

I myself have spoken, I have summoned him, I have brought him, and his way succeeds!

Because of this the earth shall mourn, the heavens above shall darken; I have spoken, I will not change my mind, I have decided, I will not turn back.

Thus my anger will spend itself; I will vent my wrath against them until I am satisfied. Then they will know that I the Lord spoke in my passion when I spend my wrath upon them.

And you will be a reproach and a taunt, a warning and a horror to the nations around you when I execute judgments against you in angry wrath, with furious chastisements. I, the Lord, have spoken!

I will send against you starvation and wild beasts who will leave you childless, while disease and bloodshed sweep through you. I will bring the sword against you. I, the Lord, have spoken.

They shall all sit under their own vines, under their own fig trees, undisturbed; for the Lord of hosts has spoken.
