The news reached Pharaoh’s house: “Joseph’s brothers have come.” Pharaoh and his officials were pleased.
Abram told Sarai: “Your maid is in your power. Do to her what you regard as right.” Sarai then mistreated her so much that Hagar ran away from her.
Then Abimelech said, “Here, my land is at your disposal; settle wherever you please.”
Their proposal pleased Hamor and his son Shechem.
“Therefore, let Pharaoh seek out a discerning and wise man and put him in charge of the land of Egypt.
This advice pleased Pharaoh and all his servants.
Joseph then kissed all his brothers and wept over them; and only then were his brothers able to talk with him.
So Pharaoh told Joseph: “Say to your brothers: ‘This is what you shall do: Load up your animals and go without delay to the land of Canaan.
All the people noted this with approval, just as everything the king did met with their approval.
