Genesis 4:1

The man had intercourse with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain, saying, “I have produced a male child with the help of the Lord.”

He expelled the man, stationing the cherubim and the fiery revolving sword east of the garden of Eden, to guard the way to the tree of life.

Certainly sons are a gift from the Lord, the fruit of the womb, a reward.

Now kill, therefore, every male among the children and kill every woman who has had sexual relations with a man.

unlike Cain who belonged to the evil one and slaughtered his brother. Why did he slaughter him? Because his own works were evil, and those of his brother righteous.
