So God took away your father’s livestock and gave it to me.
the goats mated by the shoots, and so they gave birth to streaked, speckled and spotted young.
Jacob heard that Laban’s sons were saying, “Jacob has taken everything that belonged to our father, and he has produced all this wealth from our father’s property.”

After passing the night there, Jacob selected from what he had with him a present for his brother Esau:
For every animal of the forest is mine, beasts by the thousands on my mountains.
The good leave an inheritance to their children’s children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the just.
