Genesis 22:7

Isaac spoke to his father Abraham. “Father!” he said. “Here I am,” he replied. Isaac continued, “Here are the fire and the wood, but where is the sheep for the burnt offering?”

“My son,” Abraham answered, “God will provide the sheep for the burnt offering.” Then the two walked on together.

Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and choosing from every clean animal and every clean bird, he offered burnt offerings on the altar.

Tell the whole community of Israel: On the tenth of this month every family must procure for itself a lamb, one apiece for each household.

Now, this is what you shall regularly offer on the altar: two yearling lambs as the sacrifice established for each day;

He advanced a little and fell prostrate in prayer, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; yet, not as I will, but as you will.”

Withdrawing a second time, he prayed again, “My Father, if it is not possible that this cup pass without my drinking it, your will be done!”

The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.

and as he watched Jesus walk by, he said, “Behold, the Lamb of God.”

Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword into its scabbard. Shall I not drink the cup that the Father gave me?”

For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received a spirit of adoption, through which we cry, “Abba, Father!”

All the inhabitants of the earth will worship it, all whose names were not written from the foundation of the world in the book of life, which belongs to the Lamb who was slain.
