Then the guests said to Lot: “Who else belongs to you here? Sons-in-law, your sons, your daughters, all who belong to you in the city—take them away from this place!

So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who had contracted marriage with his daughters. “Come on, leave this place,” he told them; “the Lord is about to destroy the city.” But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.

As soon as they had brought them outside, they said: “Flee for your life! Do not look back or stop anywhere on the Plain. Flee to the hills at once, or you will be swept away.”

Hurry, escape there! I cannot do anything until you arrive there.” That is why the town is called Zoar.

Then the Lord said to Noah: Go into the ark, you and all your household, for you alone in this generation have I found to be righteous before me.

I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me always, for their own good and the good of their children after them.

Leave her, my people; each of you save your own life from the burning wrath of the Lord.

Then he spoke to the community, “Move away from the tents of these wicked men and do not touch anything that is theirs: otherwise you too will be swept away because of all their sins.”

and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man oppressed by the licentious conduct of unprincipled people

then the Lord knows how to rescue the devout from trial and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment,

Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “Depart from her, my people, so as not to take part in her sins and receive a share in her plagues,
