The Lord’s angel found her by a spring in the wilderness, the spring on the road to Shur,

Abraham named that place Yahweh-yireh; hence people today say, “On the mountain the Lord will provide.”

He was afraid and said: “How awesome this place is! This is nothing else but the house of God, the gateway to heaven!”

If the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had not been on my side, you would now have sent me away empty-handed. But God saw my plight and the fruits of my toil, and last night he reproached you.”

Jacob then asked him, “Please tell me your name.” He answered, “Why do you ask for my name?” With that, he blessed him.

The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.

Indeed, the ways of each person are plain to the Lord’s sight; all their paths he surveys;

So Gideon built there an altar to the Lord and called it Yahweh-shalom. To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
