Then God said: Let the water under the sky be gathered into a single basin, so that the dry land may appear. And so it happened: the water under the sky was gathered into its basin, and the dry land appeared.

God called the dome “sky.” Evening came, and morning followed—the second day.

“You are the Lord, you alone; You made the heavens, the highest heavens and all their host, The earth and all that is upon it, the seas and all that is in them. To all of them you give life, the heavenly hosts bow down before you.

He has marked out a circle on the surface of the deep as the boundary of light and darkness.

He stretches out Zaphon over the void, and suspends the earth over nothing at all;

setting the beams of your chambers upon the waters. You make the clouds your chariot; traveling on the wings of the wind.

He gathered the waters of the sea as a mound; he sets the deep into storage vaults.

The sea and dry land belong to God, who made them, formed them by hand.

All rivers flow to the sea, yet never does the sea become full. To the place where they flow, the rivers continue to flow.

Should you not fear me—oracle of the Lord— should you not tremble before me? I made the sandy shore the sea’s limit, which by eternal decree it may not overstep. Toss though it may, it is to no avail; though its billows roar, they cannot overstep.

“I am a Hebrew,” he replied; “I fear the Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land.”

They deliberately ignore the fact that the heavens existed of old and earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God;

and swore by the one who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and earth and sea and all that is in them, “There shall be no more delay.
