When someone causes a field or a vineyard to be grazed over, by sending his cattle to graze in another’s field, he must make restitution with the best produce of his own field or vineyard.

When someone gives money or articles to another for safekeeping and they are stolen from the latter’s house, the thief, if caught, must make twofold restitution.

As the thief is shamed when caught, so shall the house of Israel be shamed: They, their kings, their princes, their priests and their prophets;

You shall not exploit your neighbor. You shall not commit robbery. You shall not withhold overnight the wages of your laborer.

Give Aaron and his sons the following command: This is the ritual for the burnt offering—the burnt offering that is to remain on the hearth of the altar all night until the next morning, while the fire is kept burning on the altar.

The fire on the altar is to be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning the priest shall put firewood on it. On this he shall lay out the burnt offering and burn the fat of the communion offering.

He said this not because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief and held the money bag and used to steal the contributions.
