So Moses decided, “I must turn aside to look at this remarkable sight. Why does the bush not burn up?”

God said: Do not come near! Remove your sandals from your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.

Be not hasty in your utterance and let not your heart be quick to utter a promise in God’s presence. God is in heaven and you are on earth; therefore let your words be few.

but the Kohathites shall not go in to look upon the sacred objects even for an instant, or they will die.

The descendants of Jeconiah did not join in the celebration with the inhabitants of Beth-shemesh when they saw the ark of the Lord, and seventy of them were struck down. The people mourned over this great calamity which the Lord had inflicted upon them.
