The king issued a command to all the people: “Observe the Passover of the Lord, your God, as it is written in this book of the covenant.”

The Levites, every one of whom had purified himself for the occasion, sacrificed the Passover for all the exiles, for their colleagues the priests, and for themselves.

This is how you are to eat it: with your loins girt, sandals on your feet and your staff in hand, you will eat it in a hurry. It is the Lord’s Passover.

You shall eat nothing leavened; wherever you dwell you may eat only unleavened bread. Promulgation of the Passover.

Tell the whole community of Israel: On the tenth of this month every family must procure for itself a lamb, one apiece for each household.

The Lord answered Moses: Go on ahead of the people, and take along with you some of the elders of Israel, holding in your hand, as you go, the staff with which you struck the Nile.

So Moses went and summoned the elders of the people. When he set before them all that the Lord had ordered him to tell them,

Go and gather the elders of the Israelites, and tell them, The Lord, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, has appeared to me and said: I have observed you and what is being done to you in Egypt;

Then the Lord said to Moses: Assemble for me seventy of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be elders and authorities among the people, and bring them to the tent of meeting. When they are in place beside you,

and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they drank from a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was the Christ.

By faith he kept the Passover and sprinkled the blood, that the Destroyer of the firstborn might not touch them.

While the Israelites were encamped at Gilgal on the plains of Jericho, they celebrated the Passover on the evening of the fourteenth day of the month.
