The span of Ishmael’s life was one hundred and thirty-seven years. After he had breathed his last and died, he was gathered to his people.

Then he breathed his last, dying at a ripe old age, grown old after a full life; and he was gathered to his people.

By the sweat of your brow you shall eat bread, Until you return to the ground, from which you were taken; For you are dust, and to dust you shall return.

But when a man dies, all vigor leaves him; when a mortal expires, where then is he?

If a man were to die, and live again, all the days of my drudgery I would wait for my relief to come.

If my only hope is dwelling in Sheol, and spreading my couch in darkness,

Yet should not a hand be held out to help a wretched person in distress?

All flesh would perish together, and mortals return to dust.

As a cloud dissolves and vanishes, so whoever goes down to Sheol shall not come up.

For he knows how we are formed, remembers that we are dust.

When you hide your face, they panic. Take away their breath, they perish and return to the dust.

This is the way of those who trust in themselves, and the end of those who take pleasure in their own mouth. Selah

And the dust returns to the earth as it once was, and the life breath returns to God who gave it.

Who knows if the life breath of mortals goes upward and the life breath of beasts goes earthward?

Should such a one live twice a thousand years and not enjoy those goods, do not both go to the same place?

It is better to go to the house of mourning than to the house of feasting, For that is the end of every mortal, and the living should take it to heart.

Anything you can turn your hand to, do with what power you have; for there will be no work, no planning, no knowledge, no wisdom in Sheol where you are going. The Time of Misfortune Is Not Known.

Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake; Some to everlasting life, others to reproach and everlasting disgrace.

When you have viewed it, you will be gathered to your people, as was Aaron your brother.
