The Lord said to Moses: “Cut two stone tablets like the former, that I may write on them the words which were on the former tablets that you broke.

He took the covenant and put it in the ark; he placed poles alongside the ark and set the cover upon it.

Then I turned and came down from the mountain, and placed the tablets in the ark I had made. There they have remained, as the Lord commanded me.

He proclaimed to you his covenant, which he commanded you to keep: the ten words, which he wrote on two stone tablets.

in which were the gold altar of incense and the ark of the covenant entirely covered with gold. In it were the gold jar containing the manna, the staff of Aaron that had sprouted, and the tablets of the covenant.
