In the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer and the kings allied with him came and defeated the Rephaim in Ashteroth-karnaim, the Zuzim in Ham, the Emim in Shaveh-kiriathaim,

You gave them kingdoms and peoples, which you divided among them as border lands. They possessed the land of Sihon, king of Heshbon, and the land of Og, king of Bashan.

As we had done to Sihon, king of Heshbon, so also here we put all the towns under the ban, men, women and children;

They took possession of his land and the land of Og, king of Bashan, as well—the land of these two kings of the Amorites in the region beyond the Jordan to the east:
