But how can I, by myself, bear the weight, the contentiousness of you?

Not that of ourselves we are qualified to take credit for anything as coming from us; rather, our qualification comes from God,

to the latter an odor of death that leads to death, to the former an odor of life that leads to life. Who is qualified for this?

Truly the Lord is our shield, the Holy One of Israel, our king!

At that time I said to you, “I am unable to carry you by myself.

“You will surely wear yourself out, both you and these people with you. The task is too heavy for you; you cannot do it alone.

May the Lord, the God of your ancestors, increase you a thousand times over, and bless you as he promised!

Provide wise, discerning, and reputable persons for each of your tribes, that I may appoint them as your leaders.”
