since you are looking for proof of Christ speaking in me. He is not weak toward you but powerful in you.

and what is the surpassing greatness of his power for us who believe, in accord with the exercise of his great might,

Now to him who is able to accomplish far more than all we ask or imagine, by the power at work within us,

Of this I became a minister by the gift of God’s grace that was granted me in accord with the exercise of his power.

Only, conduct yourselves in a way worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that, whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear news of you, that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind struggling together for the faith of the gospel,

Yours is the same struggle as you saw in me and now hear about me.

For God is the one who, for his good purpose, works in you both to desire and to work.

as you hold on to the word of life, so that my boast for the day of Christ may be that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.

For I want you to know how great a struggle I am having for you and for those in Laodicea and all who have not seen me face to face,

In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood.

furnish you with all that is good, that you may do his will. May he carry out in you what is pleasing to him through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever [and ever]. Amen.

Moreover, you have endurance and have suffered for my name, and you have not grown weary.
