One afternoon about three o’clock, he saw plainly in a vision an angel of God come in to him and say to him, “Cornelius.”

Cornelius replied, “Four days ago at this hour, three o’clock in the afternoon, I was at prayer in my house when suddenly a man in dazzling robes stood before me and said,

Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple area and to breaking bread in their homes. They ate their meals with exultation and sincerity of heart,

When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked for alms.

But Peter looked intently at him, as did John, and said, “Look at us.”

Observing the boldness of Peter and John and perceiving them to be uneducated, ordinary men, they were amazed, and they recognized them as the companions of Jesus.

Then someone came in and reported to them, “The men whom you put in prison are in the temple area and are teaching the people.”

Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent them Peter and John,

and when they recognized the grace bestowed upon me, James and Cephas and John, who were reputed to be pillars, gave me and Barnabas their right hands in partnership, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.
