Peter thus was being kept in prison, but prayer by the church was fervently being made to God on his behalf.

Again, [amen,] I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything for which they are to pray, it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father.

Then he told them a parable about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary. He said,

When he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John who is called Mark, where there were many people gathered in prayer.

He had him taken into custody and put in prison under the guard of four squads of four soldiers each. He intended to bring him before the people after Passover.

On the very night before Herod was to bring him to trial, Peter, secured by double chains, was sleeping between two soldiers, while outside the door guards kept watch on the prison.

If [one] part suffers, all the parts suffer with it; if one part is honored, all the parts share its joy. Application to Christ.

as you help us with prayer, so that thanks may be given by many on our behalf for the gift granted us through the prayers of many. Paul’s Sincerity and Constancy.

Be mindful of prisoners as if sharing their imprisonment, and of the ill-treated as of yourselves, for you also are in the body.

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful.
