The Pharisees saw this and said to his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

but the Pharisees and scribes began to complain, saying, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

Then they brought Jesus from Caiaphas to the praetorium. It was morning. And they themselves did not enter the praetorium, in order not to be defiled so that they could eat the Passover.

So he invited them in and showed them hospitality. The next day he got up and went with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa went with him.

and said to them, “You know that it is unlawful for a Jewish man to associate with, or visit, a Gentile, but God has shown me that I should not call any person profane or unclean.

Send therefore to Joppa and summon Simon, who is called Peter. He is a guest in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea.’

He ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.

But I now write to you not to associate with anyone named a brother, if he is immoral, greedy, an idolater, a slanderer, a drunkard, or a robber, not even to eat with such a person.

For, until some people came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he began to draw back and separated himself, because he was afraid of the circumcised.

If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him in your house or even greet him;
