Ishbaal, son of Saul, had two company leaders named Baanah and Rechab, sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, of the tribe of Benjamin—Beeroth, too, was ascribed to Benjamin:

the king swore, “As the Lord lives, who has redeemed my life from all distress,

Who redeems your life from the pit, and crowns you with mercy and compassion,

He rescued them from hostile hands, freed them from the power of the enemy.

Let that be the prayer of the Lord’s redeemed, those redeemed from the hand of the foe,

The Lord’s face is against evildoers to wipe out their memory from the earth.

Evil will slay the wicked; those who hate the righteous are condemned.

Do not hide your face from your servant; hasten to answer me, for I am in distress.

My lips will shout for joy as I sing your praise; my soul, too, which you have redeemed.

Just as I regarded your life as precious today, so may the Lord regard my life as precious and deliver me from all dangers.”
