The stupid sow discord by their insolence, but wisdom is with those who take counsel.

A mild answer turns back wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

The start of strife is like the opening of a dam; check a quarrel before it bursts forth!

A brother offended is more unyielding than a stronghold; such strife is more daunting than castle gates.

Do not be conquered by evil but conquer evil with good.

But if you go on biting and devouring one another, beware that you are not consumed by one another.

Let us not be conceited, provoking one another, envious of one another.

God put an evil spirit between Abimelech and the lords of Shechem, and the lords of Shechem broke faith with the house of Abimelech.
