On the third day a man came from the field of battle, one of Saul’s people, with his garments torn and his head covered with dirt. Going to David, he fell to the ground in homage.

Then Absalom said, “Now call Hushai the Archite also; let us hear what he too has to say.”

Baana, son of Hushai, in Asher and Aloth;

Ahithophel was also the king’s counselor, and Hushai the Archite was the king’s friend.

In the meantime Absalom, with all the Israelites, entered Jerusalem, and Ahithophel was with him.
