Therefore, beloved, since you await these things, be eager to be found without spot or blemish before him, at peace.

So if they say to you, ‘He is in the desert,’ do not go out there; if they say, ‘He is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.

Then all those virgins got up and trimmed their lamps.

Blessed is that servant whom his master on arrival finds doing so.

“Now, Master, you may let your servant go in peace, according to your word,

He will keep you firm to the end, irreproachable on the day of our Lord Jesus [Christ].

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be firm, steadfast, always fully devoted to the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

to discern what is of value, so that you may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,

that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine like lights in the world,

But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we also await a savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

so as to strengthen your hearts, to be blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his holy ones. [Amen.]

May the God of peace himself make you perfectly holy and may you entirely, spirit, soul, and body, be preserved blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

to keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ

so also Christ, offered once to take away the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to take away sin but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await him.

Religion that is pure and undefiled before God and the Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

so that the genuineness of your faith, more precious than gold that is perishable even though tested by fire, may prove to be for praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

This is now, beloved, the second letter I am writing to you; through them by way of reminder I am trying to stir up your sincere disposition,

speaking of these things as he does in all his letters. In them there are some things hard to understand that the ignorant and unstable distort to their own destruction, just as they do the other scriptures.

Everyone who has this hope based on him makes himself pure, as he is pure. Avoiding Sin.
