Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jedidah, daughter of Adaiah, from Bozkath.

The word of the Lord which came to Zephaniah, the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah, the son of Amon, king of Judah.

The word of the Lord came to him in the days of Josiah, son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign,

He was buried in his own grave in the garden of Uzza, and his son Josiah succeeded him as king.

But, in turn, if he begets a son who sees all the sins his father commits, yet fears and does not imitate him—
