He was a mighty hunter in the eyes of the Lord; hence the saying, “Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter in the eyes of the Lord.”

Now the inhabitants of Sodom were wicked, great sinners against the Lord.

But the earth was corrupt in the view of God and full of lawlessness.

He immolated his child by fire. He practiced soothsaying and divination, and reintroduced the consulting of ghosts and spirits. He did much evil in the Lord’s sight and provoked him to anger.

I announce to him that I am condemning his house once and for all, because of this crime: though he knew his sons were blaspheming God, he did not reprove them.
