Act with all the wisdom you possess; do not let his gray head go down to Sheol in peace.

I now do as you request. I give you a heart so wise and discerning that there has never been anyone like you until now, nor after you will there be anyone to equal you.

When all Israel heard the judgment the king had given, they were in awe of him, because they saw that the king had in him the wisdom of God for giving right judgment.

Then I am in dread of all my pains; I know that you will not hold me innocent.

You shall not invoke the name of the Lord, your God, in vain. For the Lord will not leave unpunished anyone who invokes his name in vain.

You shall not despise God, nor curse a leader of your people.

You shall not delay the offering of your harvest and your press. You shall give me the firstborn of your sons.

But if you do not do this, you will have sinned against the Lord, and you can be sure that the consequences of your sin will overtake you.
